Patterns and moulds from a sample

If you have a sample or a worn part, we make the mould even when there is no drawing. The part is measured, a digital model is prepared, and it is turned into a mould that can be used for casting.

Who this is for

If a cast part in your machine has no drawing, the old supplier cannot be reached, or the part is cracked or worn, making it again starts with a pattern and a mould. Moldek in İzmir prepares that pattern and mould from the sample. If you need it, we can go on to a finished part: casting coordinated with a partner foundry, and machining in our own CNC process.

In one completed job, a machine part was scanned, a 3D model was built and the pattern was made. The parts were cast in aluminium, machined and delivered.

How the work proceeds

  1. Understand the sample

We learn where the part is used, its material, the critical sizes and how many you need.

  2. Sizes and a 3D model

We measure or scan the sample and prepare a digital model. Where it is worn, we agree with you which sizes to trust.

  3. Pattern and mould

We make a casting pattern that suits the foundry’s conditions, and a core box if one is needed.

  4. Casting, machining and handover

If you ask for it, we coordinate the casting with our partners, machine the part and hand it over.

Old design errors should not move into the new mould

A sample may have been used for years, worn, or repaired. A model from a scan shows the part as it is today, so we agree with your technical team which sizes to trust. Mounting faces, hole positions and machining allowances are settled separately. Old errors are then not carried into the new mould, and the casting can sit where it is used.

What to send for a quote

  • Photos from several angles, and a close photo if an area is broken or worn
  • Approximate sizes, and the material if you know it
  • The quantity and a target date
  • How long the sample can be away from you

If you also want the casting and the machining included, say so and we will prepare the quote on that basis.

Common questions

01 The part is cracked or broken. Can a pattern still be made?

In most cases it can be assessed from the condition of the sample. Damaged areas are settled with your engineer from the material, the working conditions and the critical sizes. Technical approval of the remade part stays with you.

02 Can you deliver a finished part?

Yes, when it is needed. We coordinate the casting with partner foundries, and we plan the CNC machining and the delivery.

03 How quickly do you reply about an urgent spare?

We record the date you are aiming for, but we do not confirm a delivery date before we have seen the part and the work it needs. After a first look we share the plan that is possible. We reply to every request within 24 hours. That is a reply time, not a delivery date.

04 Do I have to send the sample?

A first review can be done from photos and sizes. If a physical inspection is needed, we agree in advance how the part is received and returned.

05 Is a quote request charged?

No. The quote request is free and does not place an order.

The next step for your part.

Send a photo, a drawing or the sample details, and we will decide the method and the scope together.
